Terms, privacy, pricing and support

Everything that governs your account, in plain language: what you are signing up for, what happens to your data, what it costs, and how to reach a human.

Terms of Service

The agreement between the company that runs Trail and the company that subscribes to it.

01

Who runs the service

Trail is operated by Arthur Rafael Antunes Sprengel Tecnologia da Informação Ltda, registered under Brazilian tax ID (CNPJ) 53.604.532/0001-02, with its registered office at Rua Almirante Tamandaré 503, apt. 11, Alto da Rua XV, Curitiba, Paraná, 80045-110, Brazil, trading as Intecma and referred to below as Intecma.

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you accept on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to do so, and "you" then means that company.

02

What the service does

Trail is a web based work tracker. You organize projects and tasks, attach files to them, record the decisions behind a project, generate reports, open a read only view so your own client can follow progress, and connect coding agents so they log what they did.

We may improve, change or retire features. Any change that materially reduces what you subscribed to will be announced at least 30 days in advance.

03

Accounts and passwords

  • An account belongs to one person. Do not share your login.
  • You must be 18 or older and give accurate details, including an email address you control.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, and must tell us as soon as you suspect misuse.
  • The company you create inside the service has an owner, who controls who joins, who leaves and what each person can see.
04

API keys and coding agents

The service lets you issue a key so an external program - usually a coding agent - can read and write on your behalf. That key carries the same powers you have.

Keeping the key safe is your responsibility, and anything done with it counts as done by you. Keys can be revoked at any time from your own access screen.

05

What you may not do

  • Store or distribute unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Try to reach another customer's data, or work around the limits of your plan.
  • Upload malicious software, or use the service to attack another system.
  • Overload the service with automated traffic beyond normal use.
  • Resell or sublicense access without written permission.
06

Your content stays yours

Everything you put into the service remains yours: tasks, text, files, reports and your own clients' data.

You grant us only the technical permission the service needs to exist: to store your content, show it to the people you authorized, transmit it, back it up, and process it to produce what you asked for, such as reports and summaries.

We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not sell it or hand it to third parties.

07

Plans, billing and cancellation

Plans, limits and prices are set out under Pricing, which forms part of these terms.

  • Subscriptions are monthly or yearly, as you choose, and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • Changing plan takes effect immediately and you pay only the difference for the time left in the period already paid for.
  • Cancelling takes effect immediately and costs nothing: access continues to the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing is charged again.
  • If a payment fails we notify you and keep access for 7 days before moving the account down to the free plan.
  • Price increases apply only from the next billing cycle and are announced 30 days ahead.
08

Availability

We work to keep the service running and back it up daily, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation. There will be maintenance windows, and there can be failures.

There is no contractual uptime commitment at this stage, on any plan.

09

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that puts the service or other customers at risk, or that is overdue on payment after notice. Wherever possible we warn first and give time to put it right.

You can close your account whenever you want, from within the service, subject to the retention window below.

10

Taking your data out, and deleting it

At any time you can export everything your company holds, from the app itself, without asking anyone.

When you ask for an account or a company to be deleted, the data is held for 30 days - a window to change your mind or recover something removed by mistake - and is then permanently erased. Backups already taken expire on their own within 30 days.

11

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event.

We are not liable for lost profits, lost opportunity or indirect damages. Since the service lets you export everything at any time, keeping your own copy of important data is your responsibility.

12

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email and in the app 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.

13

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, where the operator is registered. Any dispute will be settled by the courts of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, to the exclusion of any other.

Privacy Policy

What data we handle, why, where it lives and what you can ask us to do with it.

01

Two different roles

For account data - name, email, company, billing - we decide what happens, so we act as the controller.

For the content you put inside - your tasks, your files, your own clients' information - you decide. There you are the controller and we only process, following your instructions.

02

What we handle

  • Account: name, email, password (stored in a one way form that nobody can reverse, us included) and a profile picture if you upload one.
  • Content: tasks, comments, attachments, reminders, recorded project decisions and reports.
  • Activity records: when something happened, who did it and what they did. These let you audit your own team and let us investigate faults and abuse.
  • Billing: handled by an international payment provider. Your card number never reaches our servers and is not stored by us.
03

Why we handle it

  • To run the service and deliver what you subscribed to.
  • To charge you, issue billing documents and meet legal obligations.
  • To answer you when you ask for support.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To tell you about material changes to the service.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not sell data to anyone.

04

Where the data lives

The servers are in the United States. Since the operator is a Brazilian company and customers may be anywhere, data crosses borders - which the law permits when it is necessary to perform the contract you entered into and an adequate level of protection is in place.

05

Artificial intelligence

The service can write an automatic summary inside a report. When that summary is generated, the text of the tasks in that report is sent to an AI provider in the United States, which returns the summary and does not use the content to train its models.

Apart from that, we send none of your content to AI services on our own initiative.

Separately, you can connect your own coding agent to the service. In that case it is your agent reading and writing the data, under the terms of the provider you chose - what it does with the content is outside our control.

06

Who else sees it

Only the suppliers the service needs in order to work, each limited to what its job requires: server hosting, email delivery, payment processing and the AI provider described above.

We may also disclose data where the law or a court order requires it.

07

How long we keep it

  • For as long as your account exists.
  • After a deletion request: 30 days, then permanent erasure.
  • Backups are encrypted and expire on their own within 30 days.
  • Billing and tax records are kept for the period the law requires, even after the account is closed.
08

Security

  • All traffic between your browser and the service is encrypted.
  • Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be reversed.
  • Each company is isolated from every other: one company cannot see another's data.
  • Backups run daily, encrypted, and are tested every day by an automatic trial restore, with a copy kept off the server.

No system is immune. If a security incident puts your data at real risk, we will notify those affected and the competent authority, as the law requires.

09

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, give you access, correct it, hand you a copy in an open format, delete it, tell you who we share it with, and withdraw consent.

The copy you can take yourself, right now, from the export screen. Everything else goes to privacy@usetrail.dev and is answered within 15 days.

10

Cookies

We use only what is needed to keep you signed in after login. There are no advertising cookies and no third party tracking anywhere in the product.

11

Contact

Data protection contact: Arthur Rafael Antunes Sprengel, privacy@usetrail.dev. Any question about this policy goes to the same place.

12

Changes to this policy

If we change something material, we announce it by email and in the app before it takes effect. The date of the last revision always appears at the top of the page.

Pricing

What each plan includes, what it costs, and how to leave.

01

Three plans

The plan counts projects, not people. Only the free plan limits how many people you can have; on the paid plans you invite as many as you want.

02

What it costs

Free is free, and stays free. Team and Studio are charged per company, per billing period - never per person. Prices are set in US dollars; at the payment screen the amount is shown in your own currency, and that is what your card is charged.

Coding agents never count as a person and are never billed, however many you run. Nothing is ever charged to a card you have not entered yourself, and a price increase applies only from the next billing period, announced at least 30 days in advance.

03

How billing works

  • Credit card, handled by a payment provider that never passes card details to us. Your card details never touch our servers.
  • Billed monthly or yearly, as you choose, and renewed automatically until you cancel. Receipts, card changes and cancellation are all available from your account screen at any time.
  • Adding or removing people never changes the price on a paid plan.
  • If a payment fails we notify you and nothing changes for 7 days. Only after that does the account go back to the free plan - and nothing is deleted when it does.
04

Changing plan and cancelling

  • Changing plan takes effect immediately, and you pay only the difference for the time left in the period you already paid for.
  • Cancelling has no penalty and no notice period: access runs to the end of the paid period, then the account returns to the free plan.
  • If the company is over the free limit after cancelling, the extra projects become read only - nothing is deleted, and you can still export everything at any time.
05

Refunds

Cancel within 7 days of your first charge and tell us it was not for you, and we refund it in full. After that there is no partial refund of the month in progress - cancelling simply stops the next charge.

Support

Where to reach us, how fast we answer, and what is covered.

01

Where to reach us

By email, at support@usetrail.dev. We answer in English and in Portuguese.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 Brasilia time (UTC-3). Anything that arrives outside those hours joins the queue for the next business day.

02

How fast we answer

  • Paid plans: first reply within one business day.
  • Free plan: we do answer, with no guaranteed time.
  • Service down: treated as urgent, on any plan.

A reply time is not a fix time. Something complex can take longer, and when it does we keep you posted on where it stands.

03

What support covers

  • Questions about how to use the service.
  • Access, password and invitation problems.
  • Errors or strange behaviour in the system.
  • Recovering something deleted by mistake, inside the 30 day window.
  • Requests about personal data and privacy.
04

What falls outside

Custom development, integration with third party systems, process consulting and team training are not part of support. They are separate Intecma services and can be quoted on request.

05

When something goes wrong on our side

If the service is down for an extended period, or if a security incident affects your data, we email the people responsible for the account: what happened, what we have already done, and what you need to do, if anything.

About this page

Every promise on this page matches the product as built: the plans and their limits, the 7 day window after a failed payment, cancelling with access to the end of the paid period, changing plan with the difference prorated, and closing your own account or company from the screen with 30 days to change your mind.
